About Oval Village

For the first time in 150 years, this site will be open to the public and knitted back into the fabric of Lambeth.

The regeneration of The Oval Gas Works and Kennington Lane will create a community of over 1,300 homes, with over a thousand job opportunities and apprenticeships as well as shops, restaurants, parks and offices.

This site will bring together the old and new: the industrial past, with its Victorian engineering, and a new neighbourhood living and working together.

The listed gas holder, a local landmark seen by millions across the world as the backdrop to test matches, will be carefully restored.
